yet another rip off

Just tried to book a flight to Barcelona. All fine n dandy until it comes to payment time. I put in my Visa electron card number and then get the "sorry, card type does not match [ip02itx]" message and I can't continue. the only way I can continue is selecting the visa credit card type (I haven't had a credit card in over 10 years), and paying the extra £4.95. Thanks, EasyRipOff

Hi Dave, do you know of an email address to which i could address my complaint to easyjet? They charged me twice for a bus ticket I bought onboard!
Thanks for any info. --Katja

All easyjet flights were cancelled out of London-Gatwick on 25Mar07.

We rebooked for the next day using the website (since EJ closed customer service) and tried to get Easyjet to repay. After 2 weeks I just cancelled the charge thru my credit card company. EasyJet is so backwards they NEVER even responded to my complaint which became a permanent credit after 2 months if the company does not respond. I should have challenged both the original and rebooking charge!

Easyjet has cancelled the flight from Basel to Hamburg on 22July2007. Although they knew for hours that the flight is going to be cancelled there was no information up until 10pm. I know this because somebody in Hamburg has enquired on what was going on and informed us on the phone. EVERYBODY was extremly annoyed. The worst thing is that nobody gives you any suitable information. I will miss a course in Hamburg and will get the next flight only on Tuesday as everything else seems to be fully booked.

If I had known... I would have had time to go and watch the opening season of football in Switzerland between FCBasel and FCZurich. Fortunately Basel won the game - that's the good news.

I am self-employed and I have to be very well organised in order to keep track on my busy schedule. I wonder for how longer Easyjet can afford to go ahead like that. I am surprised that Easyjet does not have a business continuity plan in place which would have enabled us to continue to our destination despite the cancellation of the initial flight.

Everybody started talking to one another. It seems that Easyjet is about to lose control of their processes. This is very sad as I have been flying Easyjet for more than ten years. But if I am honest I did it because of the costs - now it seems to become more expensive than ever...

Hi, how about this one. I booked an easyjet flight from Faro to Luton for 27.6. Uneasy jet debited my mastercard for the flight(212€) but also made three 'shadow reservations' each for 212€, total 636€ from my card. Despite persistant complaints and a weak promise on 3.7 to remove them 'within five working days' from their pathetic customer service, guess what?
They are still there and to top it my bank has charged me interest on this sum. Easyjet means Easytheft. David on the Algarve

I checked in at Palma with my family Feb. 18 2010 only to be told, just before boarding, the flight was cancelled and they couldnt get us back to the U.K. for another 6 days or Bristol, our destination, for 2 weeks! Had to pay £1600 (for 3 adults) to fly with another airline. They are now keeping us waiting for a refund. Easyjet only seem to have one standard email response which is 'not to email again as they have a backlog to deal with'. Wonder how the families with no credit card managed.

I have never had to change a name on a flight before but I just phoned easy jet to ask about it and was told it would be nearly double the price of the initial flight! They charge £50 'administration fee' basically for someone to type in a new name into a box plus the difference in flight price. I asked them what the £50 administration fee was for and was told its just to change the name, am I the only one that thinks this is ridiculous? So it turns out we might as well not change the name as its only an extra £2 to book another ticket and that would mean they couldn.t sell the seat again and make double the money.

Do all airlines charge stupidly large fees for this?

Hi Dave,

I've been having exactly the same problem with easyjet the last 7-8 months.

Earlier, they used to accept the electron payment, but not anymore. I tried complaining to no avail.

There MUST be something customers can do about this kind of rip off. Any suggestions?

I have tried to pay with my Visa Electron but the same thing happened to me - the card is recognised as a standard Visa card! I then tried to absorb the least amount of charges, so I tried a Debit Mastercard and guess what - they also recognise it as a standard Mastercard!

Reading all of your comments makes me realize my complaint I've sent them yesterday might be to no avail!
